Capsimax® Breakdown

 

Capsimax® is a patented ingredient that contains a very concentrated natural capsicum extract from red hot chili peppers that delivers all of the heat of capsaicin (like a habanero pepper) without the burn.  Capsaicinoids are the naturally occurring compounds that cause the burning sensation, or heat, that we get from eating red chili peppers. Capsaicinoids stimulate thermogenesis, the process of generating heat energy by breaking down our bodies’ main unit of energy, adenosine triphosphate. One study explored the effects of Capsimax® on the breakdown of fat and secretion of hormones that control metabolism on both healthy and obese subjects. Twenty healthy subjects who ingested 100 mg Capsimax® (2 mg capsaicinoids) showed significant increases in free fatty acids and glycerol in their blood post-ingestion and after exercise (an indicator of fat breakdown). Another study found eight weeks of daily supplementation with Capsimax®, the group taking the Capsimax® containing supplement lost more weight, more body fat and more waist and hip girth than the placebo group. The Capsimax® group also gained more lean body mass.

A study observing energy expenditure and fat craving after supplementation with Capsimax® saw energy levels increased while fat craving decreased.
